Hemp kitchen textile
Fiber hemp has been grown in Lithuania for many years, but over time it has been displaced by linen and synthetic fabrics. However, the cultivation of fibrous hemp in Lithuania is reborn and is becoming more and more popular due to its advantages:
- Soft and pleasant to touch. Hemp fabric is often associated with roughness, but a properly processed fabric is particularly soft and still softens during washing and use.
- Durable and long-lasting. Hemp textile is made of hemp fiber which is one of the strongest and most durable natural textile fibers.
- Sustainable and environmentally friendly. Growing and processing of hemp do not involve the use of pesticides and other chemicals. Hemp products are easily recyclable and help to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions. The durability of hemp fabrics helps to lower consumerism.
